The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary
When we started filming this short documentary on the Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary I didn’t think this would shift my perspective so much. I cut out meat from my diet for the past year just as a change and personal challenge. Once my wife and I started this project, and filmed at the happy herd farm sanctuary, my mind has shifted more to an ethical perspective. I never thought that an animal like a turkey, or a cow would have so much personality. They are also in an environment that gives them an opportunity to live a real life, and be carefree.
The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary located in Langley, British Columbia Canada. The Happy Herd is founded by Diane Marsh and Stephen Wiltshire with a mission to rescue abandoned, abused farmed animals. Currently at the farm, they have rescued Cows, Pigs, Chickens, Turkeys, Goats, Sheep and a Donkey! They are still looking for new volunteers and are completely run by donation.
